Oregon has been revising its graduation requirements to include proficiency-based demonstrations of learning alongside traditional credit accumulation. The SIS needs to track both credit hours and proficiency-based markers, and the transcript must reflect whatever model the district uses.
For districts implementing Oregon’s Essential Skills requirements, the SIS also needs to record work samples, assessment scores, and other evidence of proficiency that the state accepts for graduation.
Oregon’s Education Service Districts provide technology, special education, and administrative services to member districts. Some ESDs have existing SIS agreements or hosted solutions for their region.
