Flexible software empowers schools to reopen successfully in-person, remote or hybrid
Alma SIS provides foundational support for schools to confidently move forward whether in-person, at home or anywhere in between
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: – Alma Student Information System (SIS) is responding to the rapidly developing needs for all possible K-12 reopening styles by updating powerful products within its modern and award-winning, comprehensive SIS platform. Looking towards the future and the shift to progressive learning practices, Alma’s flexible technology enables districts and schools of all sizes to quickly pivot and embrace immediate opportunities for their learning communities. Alma’s new and existing tools give educators the framework and the increased versatility to implement their best teaching models to meet learning demands and maintain student workflow in a protected and personalized approach, whether in-person, at home or anywhere in between.
“We are excited and energized to empower educators, administrators and families with strong technology that supports progressive learning best practices and engages schools to set clear routines to keep kids, educators and staff safe and focused on learning. The future of education is now and we are committed to ensuring educators and families get the most from Alma’s modern technology everyday from home, live in the classroom and anywhere in between. “ says Andrew Herman, CEO and Founder of Alma.
Alma’s modern platform fully supports all learning and reopening styles, and can quickly respond to school communities pivoting from in-person to 100% remote or hybrid at a moment’s notice. While certain features enhance live in-person education, other tools empower progress within remote and hybrid school environments.
Alma’s wellness check Surveys feature gives school admins the power and flexibility to create health guidelines, such as temperature checks and identifying potential symptoms, to gauge and minimize risk within in-person learning environments. Parents and students are able to respond to customizable screening survey questions and staff is able to view results along with a quick data summary for a complete snapshot of the school population, ensuring kids are safe and accounted for.
“Alma created customizable survey templates that schools can use to collect health information from parents each day and screen each student upon arrival in the morning. School staff will have immediate access to the wellness data for the entire student body,” said Mike Oliver, Alma Co-Founder and Head of Product. “Alma helps school communities look out for one another, reduce infection rates, and identify care for individuals in need as students and staff return for in-person instruction.”
With some students participating in distance learning and other students participating in live education, Alma put the power to record online learning attendance in the hands of parents and students. User-submitted attendance ensures students are accountable for their school day. Alma’s advanced attendance features enable parents and students to take attendance based on half-day, full-day or by-the-hour and record whether students are in-class – putting continued effort into subject comprehension.
“The last few months have tested us all by forcing educators to trade our classrooms for teaching from home,” said Sherry Sousa, Windsor Central SU Interim Superintendent. “We had little time to prepare, to learn skills that we never imagined, and to shift our ideas of what constituted a lesson. Alma is a strong foundational system that has allowed us to weather this process. With Alma, we can gather the best data for our district and make better reopening decisions based on numbers and community feedback.”
This is a school year like no other, and Alma is proud to deploy uniquely designed tech tools to help educators guide student creativity and connection as well as keep track of COVID-19 symptoms and social distancing status. Alma’s new and existing features support highly-flexible, completely customizable back-to-school plans that will help ensure a safe and effective learning environment whether reopening includes in-person, remote or a hybrid approach.
